TRIKING TYPE 1 1989 1000 cc
Moto Guzzi round fin Engine and 5 speed Moto Guzzi gearbox.
A rare opportunity to acquire one of the last of the original type 1 Cyclecars before changes were
made to the chassis pan. Factory built in 1988 [registered in 1989] for a customer in Scotland who
only used it on occasions as he worked overseas. Later sold to a Gentleman in central UK before
being returned to the Triking Factory in 2021 with only circa 21000 miles recorded.
In early 2021 a comprehensive “Body off” refurbishment was carried out which included,
ENGINE UNIT and ancillaries.
Complete strip down and rebuild of Engine and Gearbox to manufactures tolerances.
New Valeo type Starter motor, electronic ignition and 2 x new Ignition coils/leads/
caps. Carburettors stripped, ultrasonic cleaned and rebuilt with new parts as req. New deep spline
Clutch assy. Fitted. New braided Oil feed pipes. 2 x New 120 mm universal joints to prop shaft.
Polished Rocker boxes/ timing chest / Alternator cover /Distributor cap. Billet turned Alloy
exhaust header roses.
CHASSIS AND BODY
All bodywork inc. side panels, removed, bare striped, bonded and riveted ready for paint.
All fibreglass panels stripped back. Bodywork re painted in Bentley Brewster Green.
Chassis stripped back and primed, re painted in gloss Chassis Black. New Type 3 mudguard
stays and polished alloy cycle guards fitted. Alloy Monza type filler cap fitted. 2 x new
windscreen glasses fitted with new supports.
MECHANICAL PARTS
New Master cylinders fitted, new Facet type fuel pump and pipework, Front Wheels
stripped, polished and rebuilt with Stainless spokes on Alloy rims, new Wheel bearings fitted,
New Type 3 front suspension wishbones and uprights with new Ball Joints /track rod ends and
new suspension damper units. Rear swinging arm blasted, and powder coated. Triking 15” Rear
wheel fitted. New rear pads. Front {AP racing} callipers rebuilt with new seals/pistons/ new
pads. New Stainless steel exhaust system and silencers fitted with side heat shields. 3 x new
Tyres/tubes. Triking stainless luggage rack. New Hagon rear shock absorbers. New throttle and
choke cables fitted.
ELECTRICAL
Complete re wire with new bespoke loom including new fuse, indicator/ hazard units.
Battery master kill switch, new 30 ah AGM Battery. New indicators and rear stop/tail
lamps, number plate lamp.
INTERIOR AND TRIM.
New Alloy engine turned dashboard with lockable glove box, new bespoke toggle switches and
warning lamps, Triking instrument pack, 12v Aux. Socket. 13” Hardwood 3 spoke steering wheel
on bespoke Triking steering hub.
Complete re trim [including formers] to seats, Door cards, cockpit trim strip, tunnel, dash trim strip.
3 Point safety harnesses. Ribbed rubber floor mats.
GENERAL
The Vehicle has a current MOT certificate until October 2023 and has just had a full annual service
